Photographer based in Kamakura, Japan
I explore the quiet spaces where light, memory, and absence intersect.
My photographs are not records of places, but traces of time—
the faint imprint left when something has passed yet still remains.
Growing up in Kamakura, I learned to see the world through layers:
what is visible, what has vanished, and what continues to echo in the silence.
This sensibility guides my work. I approach the landscape not as scenery,
but as a vessel of accumulated moments, shaped by loss, distance,
and the fragile tension between presence and disappearance.
My images often dwell in the subdued zone between day and shadow—
a place where light softens, forms dissolve, and time becomes tactile.
I am drawn to scenes that hold an inner stillness:
a wooden corridor touched by fading light,
a shoreline where the tide carries a memory,
a stone surface worn by countless years.
Rather than offering explanations, I seek to open a quiet space
in which the viewer can sense their own memories rising.
Silence, for me, is not the absence of sound but the beginning of perception.
